Katy Moore started managing her own rental properties 20 years ago, growing her portfolio to 25 rentals over the next decade. She then took that passion to one of New Zealand’s largest property management companies, winning many awards along the way, including Independent Property Manager of the Year at the Tenancy Master Class (TMC) Awards in 2022.
Katy is unstoppable. She is known in the industry for her kindness and is loved by a wide circle of close family and friends. She has two sons and spends free time with her partner either enjoying Christchurch’s exciting central city environs or exploring wild and remote parts of the West Coast.
Wesley Smith has also worked in property management for more than 20 years, both in New Zealand and internationally. He has a passion for detail and perfection which saw him also successfully grow his own business Just Property Services in the healthy homes and compliance sector.
He subsequently sold the business before returning to property management full time. He is now very excited to come across to Freedom and share his skills and infectious outlook on life.
Kathy is excited about joining the team at Freedom, having enjoyed working with Katy and Wesley previously. She successfully operated her own business for many years before moving into property management and specialising in accounts administration where her passion for detail and smooth operations have made her an invaluable asset. She brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a meticulous attention to detail.
Kathy is very dedicated to her close family and friends and spends much of her time with them. In her weekends she loves her garden and enjoys sidelines in candle-making and other crafts.
Grant is Katy’s partner and supports her and Freedom to achieve their dreams. Grant’s background is as the founder and principal of DGM Group, one of Christchurch’s leading residential developers over the last 30 years. He is driven by dreams and action.
Teaming up with Katy, Wesley and Nathan, Grant is looking forward to helping Freedom grow into New Zealand’s best property management company. Grant spends his spare time with Katy surfing and exploring remote parts of the West Coast, and with his children as they step into their futures.
Ashleigh is a Level 4 qualified Senior Property Manager with more than 8 years’ experience. She has a passion for homes and residential property and hopes to become a business owner herself one day. She has recently joined Freedom having enjoyed working with Katy and Wesley previously.
Ashleigh’s talents include a very personable approach to her clients and a positive can-do attitude - she loves a challenge. Ashleigh is married with two young children and enjoys the outdoors, camping and fishing with her husband Cameron.
